Trio Dig Their Way Out of Research Facility Despite 6-Foot Snowbank Blocking Exit

Playing Trapped Polish Scientists Dig Themselves Out of Man-Size Snowdrifts

Polish researchers who refused to get snowed in somehow managed to climb their way out of a 6-foot snowdrift that blocked their only exit.

Scientists Marcin Gabrys, Lukasz Chmura and Witold Kaszkin were attempting to leave the meteorological station on Mount Kasprowy during a winter storm Thursday.

They quickly found the door was nearly entirely blocked by a snowdrift.

Instead of giving up, the trio got out their ski poles and began digging and lunging into the snow, in an attempt to create a path.

They eventually escaped, but encountered a new challenge – figuring out which way was home in the middle of the whiteout storm.
