Formerly Paralyzed Teen Fulfills Her Dream of Walking Across Graduation Stage
Anna Sarol, 18, had one goal: to walk across the stage on graduation day and collect her diploma. After suffering a spinal cord injury in a gymnastics accident during her freshman year, Sarol became paralyzed from the waist down. But she kept her goal in sight as she put in years of physical and occupational therapy. On the big day, Sarol stood up from her wheelchair and walked across the stage at Olathe Northwest High School. Her amazing accomplishment was met with joyful tears and applause.
