Sixteen years ago, Jaime Leiva crossed the Mexican border into the United States. "I didn't really realize that I was doing anything wrong," he said. "Now I've come to understand that it was something that most people see [as] bad." Leiva, 26, lives under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, recently welcomed his first child, works at an insurance agency and runs a nonprofit. He hopes to spread awareness of the positive impact DACA recipients can have in their communities.
