The 44th president ignited the rumor mill in a recorded a message that was played at a dinner in New York Thursday night where Beyoncé’s husband, Jay Z, was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

At one point, Obama's remarks turned to the subject of their children.

"Jay and I are also fools for our daughters, although he’s going to have me beat once those two twins show up,” Obama said in the pre-taped message played at the dinner. "And let’s face it — we both have wives who are significantly more popular than we are."

The Obamas have two daughters, Sasha and Malia, and the Carters have Blue Ivy. Speculation has grown that Obama's comments infer the twins are both girls.

Jay Z and Beyoncé’s sister, Solange, have been spotted at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles leading to plenty of speculation that Beyoncé is ready to give birth.

Jay Z’s induction was historical as he is the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriter's Hall Of Fame.

The Brooklyn-born rapper took to Twitter for the first time in months to list off other musicians who have inspired his ride to the top.

He also shared a Dropbox link to Obama’s speech, which caused the site to temporarily crash.

In his speech, the 44th President of the United States discussed the parallels between their careers.

“I like to think that Mr. Carter and I understand each other. Nobody who met us as younger men would have expected us to be where we are today,” he said.

“We know what it's like to not have a father around; we know what it's like not to come from and to know people who didn't get the same breaks we did, so we try to prop open those doors of opportunity so it's a little easier for those who come up behind us to succeed as well.”

Obama also mentioned how he was the first and only U.S. president to play the rapper’s music in the Oval Office.
